Accommodation

Our little house has everything you need for a truly comfortable stay. The original building was a very basic and simple storage barn that we have restored with rustic details. In keeping with its character and faithful to its traditional use we have used only natural materials and we have decorated it simply using salvaged pieces and some  country style antique furniture.

The cosy interior has an open plan living/sleeping area with a comfy bed, a super efficient wood burner, lots of books, Dvd´s and stacks of information on what to see and do in the area, WIFI is available.

The kitchen still has the original texture of the stone wall, it is fully equipped and to enjoy outdoor meals we also have a small barbecue available.

In the bathroom we have used tiles handmade in our ceramic workshop. It has a bathtub with victorian style taps and a traditional ceramic tiled floor.  Bath towels and bed linen are included in the rental and we offer  laundry service.

Outside we have preserved the Arabic tile roof of the building and restored the original curved stone façade. The house is totally detached and surrounded by garden with a big shady grapevine covered patio at the front from which to enjoy the amazing view of the Gredos mountains as it changes throughout the day… At the back of the house two huge old fig trees are the perfect spot for enjoying the afternoon winter sun.

All the plants and trees that we inherited when we bought this farm have been carefully taken care of, the two huge fig trees that provide shade in summer, an orange tree with the sweetest fruit, quinces, apricots and a handful of old fashioned rose bushes.  Over the years, we have added to the existing garden planting several varieties of climbers and shrubs that are suitable to our climate… The feeling for us is that more than owners, we are guardians of a very special place!!

Right from the house you can take beautiful walks to explore the area, the Gualtaminos river is a lovely circular walk right from your doorstep and it is even possible to walk to our village on country lanes (50 mins) or visit our neighbouring Village, Valverde de la Vera.

We provide hand drawn maps and lots of information on local walks and swimming spots so you can truly enjoy the area.

Price for two people is 85 euros / night. The price includes a breakfast basket with homemade bread and jam, butter, eggs from our chickens, milk, coffee and seasonal fruit. Discounts for longer stays more tan 4 nights or more and weekly rates available. Dogs are very welcome! We are animal lovers … It is essential to communicate that you will be bringing a dog with you when making your reservation. We accept one (big) or two (smaller) well behaved dogs. Under no circumstance they must climb on the sofa, bed or sun loungers.  The property is not fenced and there may be visits by cats and dogs from neighboring farms!

The living área is open planned with a queen sized bed, sofa, a simple kitchen and dining table. The bathroom has a large built in shower, plenty of hot water and a window with beautiful views of nature and the trees. The kitchen is well equipped with a small gas cooking hob, fridge and everything you need to cook a simple meal and of course our own handmade bowls, plates and cups are used!

There is no WIFI signal in the studio, but it is possible to connect by sitting on the bench in our nearby garden.

The apartment is mainly used for students on our ceramic courses, but it is also available for holiday rentals. Contact us for more information.
